Position:         Youth Ski and Snowboard Instructor

Reports to:     Youth Programs Supervisor and Multiweek Coordinator

Status:            Seasonal, non-exempt

Date:              April 2008

Job Summary:

The Youth Programs Instructor is responsible for creating an atmosphere with students and families that encourages learning, exploration, safety, fun, and makes families want to come back to ski and snowboard at Stevens Pass time and time again.

Responsibilities:

· Coach and instruct individuals and groups as assigned.

· Present a positive, respectful, and professional image to our guests and other employees.

· Create an environment for learning that is child appropriate, fun, encourages exploration and development, and teaches safety.

· Follow all policies and procedures in checking students out with their parents.

· Create additional business and revenue by bringing assigned clients back for more lessons and by knowing and promoting our ski and snowboard school products and services.

· Attend mandatory meetings and trainings.

· Complete the necessary paperwork and other requirements of employment in a timely and accurate manner.

· Assist with inside duties in the Youth Programs Facility.

· Assist with on snow set up for children’s teaching area.

· Perform additional tasks as requested by the adult and youth program managers, the administrative manager, and supervisors.

Qualifications and Experience:

· An interest in and fascination with people/children and a desire to help them succeed in whatever way they chose to define success.

• Possess intimate knowledge of all Youth and Adult Ski and Snowboard School programs, lessons, promotions, policies and procedures.

· A love for skiing, riding and the mountains and a desire to share it with others.

· A willingness and aptitude to learn.

· Competent riding and/or skiing ability and possession of the contemporary equipment and clothing.

· Experience working with children.
