Job Summary

The Youth Programs Facility Supervisor is responsible for the staff, the well being of the children while inside, the sales and registration process, and all other activities of the Youth Programs indoor facility.  This person must coordinate with the instructor supervisor to create the best guest experience for each child throughout the day.  The scope will include hiring, training, scheduling, creating a quality guest experience and monitoring and coaching staff performance.

 

Responsibilities

Staffing

  • Hire a team of staff for the indoor youth programs facility.
  • Train and coach staff to work with all of our customers-children, parents, and instructors.
  • Supervise facility attendants and the care of children in the youth programs facility.
  • Monitor and document staff performance including staff reviews.
  • Ensure a positive, respectful and professional image to our guest and other employees.
  • Schedule facility attendants to fit business levels and budgetary guidelines.
  • Work to maintain high morale among staff, the fellow supervisors, and interdepartmentally.
  • Be an active and productive member of the Ski and Snowboard School management team and the team of supervisors across the resort.

Administrative

  • Model a picture of success for a superb customer experience for both children and parents.

·        Supervise procedures for safe return of children to parents at the end of each lesson session.

  • Coordinate with Sales and Reservation to ensure a smooth transition from reservation to student check-in.
  • Supervise all on-site sales and registration processes with a goal of accuracy and efficiency.

·        Ensure that guest concerns and comments are handled in a professional manner and that appropriate follow-up and documentation is completed in a timely manner.

Facility

·        Ensure students are in a welcoming, comfortable atmosphere and enjoy their indoor experience pre-class, post-class, and during lunch periods.  .

·        Supervise the return of children to the appropriate parent(s).

·        Work closely with rental department to coordinate an efficient rental equipment process.

·        Coordinate lunch process with F&B, facility staff, instructors, and other departments.

·        Coach staff to maintain clean and welcoming facilities.

Other:

  • Perform additional tasks as requested by Management Staff, Division Director, or General Manager.

 

Qualifications and Experience

·        Proven leadership skills and planning ability

·        Possess intimate knowledge of all Youth and Adult Ski and Snowboard School programs, lessons, promotions, policies and procedures.

·        Experience working with children of all ages

·        One who is a self-starter, a problem solver, can multi-task, and work under pressure

·        Proven customer service abilities

·        Effective communication skills

·        Demonstrated ability to be a contributing team player

·        Highly organized

·        Demonstrated computer skills with strong experience in Windows, Word, Access and Excel

·        Prior experience with ski/snowboard instruction or PSIA/AASI certification is a plus
